Shimla: Chance of rain and snowfall in the state from today, avalanche blocked Tandi-Killar road, 36 people stranded
Shimla, Jagran Correspondent. Western Disturbance will be active in the state from Wednesday and there is a possibility of snowfall in the higher reaches till Friday. There may be rain with thunderstorm in most areas of the state. This will increase the cold. The minimum temperature in Kalpa, Keylong, Manali, Kukumseri and Narkanda at six places, including the tribal areas of the state, was below the freezing point.
Shimla town recorded a minimum temperature of six degrees Celsius, while the low-lying areas of the state recorded temperatures lower than Shimla. Meteorological Department Director Surendra Pal says that there is a possibility of snowfall and rain for three days.
Efforts to open 145 roads
145 roads are blocked due to snowfall in the state, efforts are being made to open them. 121 roads are blocked in Lahaul Spiti district, 11 in Chamba, seven in Kullu, two each in Kinnaur, Shimla and Kangra districts. One transformer each is faulty in Lahaul Spiti and Shimla districts. Nine drinking water schemes are affected in Chamba and Lahaul Spiti districts.

36 people trapped
The Tandi-Killar road was blocked by
an avalanche near Tindi on Tuesday. Due to this, 36 people going to Pangi in
four vehicles got trapped. Tindi resident Rahul told that with the help of the
police, all the people were rescued and kept in the rest house of the forest
department and the houses of the local people in Tindi. He told that everyone
is safe.
